Working with steel requires a great deal
of pounding. In the late Middle Ages,
water wheels were often used to power the hammers.
The forge is located in a forest near a
river so there will be
plenty of wood for the furnace.
The forge has a work space on the ground
floor and
storage and living quarters in the upper floors.
A small dam is all that is needed to
keep the wheel turning.
