Château de Montbrun was built in 1179 by Aymeric Bruni upon his return from the 2nd Crusade. The castle was a rectangular fortress with a square tower at each corner and with a larger square keep at the southwest corner. The castle changed hands several times during the Hundred Years War and was partially destroyed. The castle was restored during the 1430s when the castle took on its current form. Round towers replaced the square towers at each corner, but the sqaure keep was retained, rising above the round tower. |
My reconstruction of Château de Montbrun is 25 inches long, 20 inches wide (80 x 64 studs) and is about 24 inches high. For more photos of my reconstruction of Château de Montbrun
