Oporów Castle began as a rectangular tower with a stone wall and gate sometime before 1425. Wladyslaw Oporowski, Deputy Chancellor of Poland and Archbishop of Gniezno, improved the castle between 1430 and 1450. His improvements included a residential building along the south wall and a D-shaped tower with a chapel on the east wall.

During the Swedish invasion in the 1600s, the roof, upper floors, and part of the tower were destroyed. The castle was restored but with changes to the original structure. The castle was renovated in the 18th and 19th Centuries making it more residential, including replacing the drawbridge with a terrace and adding a gatehouse. The building has been restored and made into a museum since the 1950s.

My reconstruction of Oporów Castle represents the castle as it may have looked in the mid 15th Century.

My model is 25 inches long, 22 1/2 inches wide (80 x 72 studs) and is about 15 inches high.
