Prudnik Pic

Prudnik Castle was built by the Czech knight Wok of Rosenberg in 1255. At the time it marked the border between Bohemian and Polish territories. The castle has a rectangular bailey with buildings on the north and west sides and a circular tower at the southeast. A second line of walls with a gatehouse and two defensive towers surrounds the entire castle.

The castle was damaged in the Hussite Wars in the early 15th Century, but remained in use. It was restored in the late 1700s by Frederick the Great. The castle burned and the remains, except for the tower, were demolished in the 19th Century. The surviving tower, known as Wok's Tower was restored in 2009.

My reconstruction of Prudnik Castle relys heavily on reconstructions based on recent research. It represents the castle as it is believed to have looked in the late in the 13th Century.

My model is 25 inches long, 22 1/2 inches wide (80 x 72 studs) and is about 20 inches high.
