The large tower with its lion head corbels gives the
castle its name. Like most castles, Lion Tower Keep has many
layers of defense. The tower itself overlooks all the
courtyards and other towers in the entire castle.
The tower, the great hall and the upper courtyard are
built on a higher elevation and are reached through a single
gate at the top of a narrow staircase. With it's own towers
and battlements, the inner keep is a complete castle within
the castle.

Counting the drawbridge and ramp, the castle is 37 1/2 x
20 inches (120 x 64 studs.) It features a working
drawbridge, two gates, and several buildings in the ward.
The keep itself has an enclosed gallery connecting the tower
to the great hall.
