The entire castle is one building entered from a single doorway at the top of a narrow staircase. The turn in the stairway makes it almost impossible to use a battering ram on the door.

This castle was inspired by (but isn't an exact copy of) Orford Castle in Suffolk, England. I couldn't resist making a pun of the name.
