Carsluith Castle is a three story, L-plan tower house in Galloway, Scotland. The main tower was built sometime after 1460. It is three stories high with corbelled walkways on two ends. A round turret was once located at each corner. The stair tower was added around 1560. It contains a circular staircase linking the three stories and is topped with a cap-house. The ground floor is divided into two store rooms with vaulted stone ceilings. The great hall is on the first floor. Other floors contained living quarters and storage. |
