Castle Rising Pic

Castle Rising was built by William d'Aubigny shortly after 1138 in Norfolk, England. Although designed as a fortress, the building was more of a palace with decorative stonework and large windows. In the 14th Century, the castle became the home of Queen Isabella after her fall from power.

Castle Rising consists of a stone keep surrounded by extensive earthworks. The keep is three floors high with turrets at each corner and a forebuilding with a long staircase leading to the great hall. The castle was renovated in the 14th Century when another floor was added to the forebuilding.

My reconstruction of Castle Rising represents its appearance before renovations in the 14th Century. It is 30 inches long, 20 inches wide (96 x 64 studs) and is about 18 inches high.
