The castle was well supplied with food
and fresh water. After a few months of siege, the
defenders are doing better than the attacking army,
who have to forage for their food in an increasingly
barren countryside.
The commander of the attacking army
decides to try to take the castle by storm.
A siege tower is built and rolled up to the castle
wall.
Archers use mantlets to provide some
shelter as they shoot hundreds of arrows
across the walls in an attempt to prevent the
defenders from interfering with
soldiers on the ground as they rush to the seige tower.
